The Road is Neverending

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of travel, good-byes, closing up, and beginning again. We kissed May good-bye and welcome June in with a quick weekend trip to northern Thailand, where the weather was kind and Mexican restaurants abounded.

Burgers, burritos & Burmese - what more can you ask for?!?

The streets of Chiang Mai

Once again, I'm incredible grateful to live in a city that is just a quick bus ride away from Bangkok, travel hub of Southeast Asia - even if I have to cross an international border to get there.

After getting back from Chiang Mai, we were incredibly fortunate to have a visitor from back home stop by on his backpacking trail through Southeast Asia. We threw him on the back of a moto and took him on a trip to the village to give him a taste of the "real" Cambodia. It also happens to be the same village where we have been made the most delicious Khmer food we've ever found. Not a bad place to take a visitor, right?

Don't be jealous of the amazing food we have here in Cambodia... KC can't serve this up!

Having someone from home here felt so comforting. Even though we haven't seen each other in at least three years, he is someone I grew up with, and I felt like a little brother was coming to see me. You don't realize how much you miss home til you encounter a bit of it. I'm thankful that someone from Kansas finally made it to see us - and hopefully he will be followed by many more...(hint, hint, friends and family!)
