Oh, Kansas City

Yes, we are still present and breathing. Yes, we've had internet access. Yes, I've been sleeping in a lot and stuffing my face with delicious food and spending all my husband's money on Trader Joe's and nail polish. Just stocking up on memories for the future.

Two weeks from now, we will be on an airplane flying to Cambodia. The past month of being here in the U.S. has flown by. We've been doing lots of American-type things...like golfing...

(Well - Andrew has. I mini-golfed, which is about as close as I get to the real thing.)

Fixing up our cars to sell....(which mine did! Andrew's - not yet - need a Camry?)

Enjoying warm fall evenings on the Country Club Plaza...

Going to First Fridays in downtown Kansas City, with all its mass chaos and gymnastic performers...

Trying to go salsa dancing, and failing (so far) - hard to dance outside when it's raining. But we still got to hang out with friends...in their car. While waiting for the rain to stop. It never did.

Getting to spend quality time with the ol' dog, Darcy.

Waiting in line 1 1/2 hours to see the new Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts...there were loads of food trucks there, enticing the people waiting in line. Let's just say I did not resist temptation. Not when there were cupcakes involved.

And just general goofing-off. You never know what kind of props you can find in the basement of a Sunday school classroom.

We are headed into the home stretch, with a quick trip to my hometown coming up this week to see my family. The past month has been a lot busier that I expected. I have officially gone back to school, which has added to the busyness. I decided, over the course of the internship, that it would be a really good idea to go back to get my bachelor's degree - finally. Yes, I've attempted this before, but a little something called engagement temporarily distracted me. For two years. Fortunately, the program is 100% online at University of Missouri-Kansas City, and God willing, I'll be done by December 2012.

Thank you for allowing me to take a brief hiatus from blog writing. You'll be hearing more from me soon!
